Okay everyone is in hype for the new blue-eyes structure deck that released in japan. This is finally what players like me have been waiting for additional support for the most iconic monster thw game has. I peraonally have been experimenting for months about the decks design weaknesses and consistency. So I am fully eager to olay with maiden when she arrives.

Killing time waiting for YouTube to load i came accross a few new cards listed below

Charging Emperor
a continuous spell with the following effect: “ While this card is face-up on the field, you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck. Tribute Summoned monsters cannot be targeted or be destroyed by card effects.”Can you say Monarchs gaining new support.

Rapid Magical Amplifier
a quick-play spell whose effect is: “ Target 1 Quick-Play Spell Card in your Graveyard, except “Rapid Magical Amplifier”; shuffle it into your Deck. If this card on the field is destroyed by your opponent and sent to the Graveyard: You can add 1 Quick-Play Spell Card from your Deck to your hand, except “Rapid Magical Amplifier”.” WTF man.

Abysscorn
This traps effect is: ”Target 1 “Mermail” monster you control; it gains 1000 ATK until the End Phase. When this Set card is sent to the Graveyard: Target 1 monster your opponent controls; send it to the Graveyard.” really a do they need this card?

Mermail - Abysstrite
An XYZ rank 3 with 1600 ATK and 2800 DEF: “ When your opponent targets exactly 1 “Mermail” monster you control for an attack, or with a Spell/Trap effect: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; that attack/Spell/Trap now targets this card, if it is an appropriate target. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: Target 1 “Mermail” monster in your Graveyard, except “Mermail - Abysstrite”; Special Summon it.” This is just crazy

There is some amazingly weird/powerful cards comming out soon and they are going to be some doozies just by the looks of them.

Okay Memory of a Friend & Cashback. Two more of those trap cards that have unique effects.

Memory of a Friend -
“ When an opponent’s monster declares an attack: Take damage equal to that monster’s ATK and banish that monster. During the End Phase of your opponent’s next turn, Special Summon the monster banished by this effect to your side of the field.”

Cashback -
“When your opponent pays Life Points to activate a Spell, Trap, or Effect Monster’s effect: Negate the activation, and if you do, shuffle it into the Deck.”

Okay yes there is backlash effects/requirements to these cards effects but they could easily cause an immense troublesome effect on the meta, look them up and give your own opinions on them.

Retaliation, a counter trap that literally makes me say what were they thinking. It’s effect states,…

“When your opponent activates a card with the same name as a Spell/Trap Card in your Graveyard: Negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card, then you can add 1 card from your Graveyard with the same name as the destroyed card to your hand.”

How is this beneficial for those one shot spell/traps that can’t be reused. So my opponent negates my dark hole and then uses theirs when so they can finish me off well ill negate their Dark hole and get mine back. Same way of Heavy Storm, they Starlight Road it, i’ll negate theirs and get mine back. Think of the kind of troll effects that are coming out and the kind of benefits or influence they could have on the meta.

So i am looking around on Dueling Network, and i come across this card, Unification of the Country. I found its effect very interesting. It’s effect states that…

“During each Standby Phase: The turn player targets 1 face-up monster they control; send all face-up monsters they control with a different Level than the target to the Graveyard.”

Okay this may sound like a bad idea, having both players select levels then destroy the rest. But think of the case, of the slower pace decks that use different level monsters. This can be a method to eliminate the field of other more troublesome monsters. Whats amazing about this card is that it sends cards to the graveyard rather than destroying them. This is definitely one of those kinds of cards to watch.

So I’ve been play testing the new Silver Sentinel, and I’ve been having a blast with it. For those of you who don’t know it, his effect is rather resourceful. When your opponent over extends or makes an MST/heavy push you can punish them for it, during the end phase or force them to stop so they don’t lose a monster/back row. On many occasions it has halted my opponent from their push especially when they foolishly destroy it. I have even been successful with ROTA, and setting an MST, to fool my opponent then they set 2 & pass. Leaving me to destroy potential problems early on.

Okay i figured i would do a few tech cards for the sake that i haven’t done a recent one. Now there are a few cards i could run over them but, these two prove beneficial when i get them. First is Hydrogeddon, a level four dinosuar with 1600 ATK 1000 DEF. It’s effect is : “When this card destroys a monster your opponent controls by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 “Hydrogeddon” from your Deck.”

For those of you who want to be running dino-Rabbits in the near future look into this card. Even though this one Dino will have the lowest amount of ATK when compared to the other three, but he does have his surprising factors which is something I enjoy. Not to mention unlike Jurrac Guaiba, the monster you summon can have an additional attack. Considering that many players will be using Forbidden Lance anyways to get over particular monsters why not get in some extra Damage.

The next is another card i have been testing recently, and that is Instant Fusion. We all know its simple effect: “Pay 1000 Life Points; Special Summon 1 Level 5 or lower Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.) The Fusion Monster Special Summoned by this effect cannot attack, and is destroyed during the End Phase. Only 1 “Instant Fusion” can be activated per turn.”

Simply enough, you can summon any fusion monster as long as it is level five or lower. This makes great options for XYZ or Synchro. Can can be game changing form time to time if played correctly. If there is any thoughts on either of these cards (with the exception, the usual plus and minus errata) feel free to express your opinion.

Rescue Rabbit is getting reprinted in the next Tin coming out Octobret 30, 2012, by purchasing the Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo tin you can get both Rescue Rabbit and No. 16 Shock Master. O_O

Dragon's without a Future?

Right now I wanna touch on something someone brought up with me and that is the importance of Future Fusion, in dragon decks. Granted Future fusion was useful in a variety of decks none more so then the Disaster Dragons & Chaos Dragons. All of the plays were made accessible through this one key card. Even in a variety of other decks such as Dragunity: who utilized Future Fusion as a mass Dragon’s Ravine/Foolish Burial. It opened their plays relatively easy. Even Elemental Heroes, who would use Future Fusion would allow them to set up a simple Miracle Fusion turns in advance.

But it was not a necessary staple in many decks that would require it. Some decks would never tiredly need it to function well, and to be completely devastating. However many of the main dragon decks also used the Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon engine to swarm the field and maintain dominance over other decks or to swarm the field with powerful dragon-type monsters. Now for many duelist’s REDMD, was a god send and they’re main swarm engine as well as establishing field presence.
Yet for me this monster was deemed unworthy for use. I would jot argue that it was a powerful monster but I also did not like it’s simplistic nature. And thus I did not want to use it instead I was intrigued in alternative methods of summoning my beloved dragon: the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. And I was successful catching unprepared duelist’s off guard with Ancient Rules.

I found he was right that Dragons will survive without Future Fusion and the Pure-Hearted dragon duelist’s will create an alternative means and create a new deck or play a simple Dragon deck that can still function well even with the damaging effect of no Future Fusion.

By all means what are some of your thoughts and opinions on the Future of Dragons. Do Dragon’s have a place in the meta without Future Fusion?

Worst Duel Day for My Blue-Eyes

With the new format many of my experienced friends began dueling circles around me especually since i had to duel Inzektors and Six Samurai today :’(. Inzektors wasn’t all too bad. With the baan list they arent nearly as explosive but it was still a terrible match up ended up with a 1-2 only winning one game from the match.

With Six Samurai, was horrible game one he locks me with Barkion, Beast, Shi En, and Landiose. Next game, I Solemned Shi En, and then got hit with a Blade Armor. :’( It made me sad face. so I have spent the last few hours rebuilding my Blue-Eyes, adding and subtracting certain cards and conducting experiments in order to maximize a potential to survive, against some of my opponents.

My worst match up is HERO and Six Samurai…. >:(

Back From a Three Day Weekend

Back online from a three day weekend and i must say i spent it away from Yu-Gi-Oh! for the most part. I came into school to find out that my Friend Paul from Team Havoc had placed Second at the Regional’s on Saturday, with his HERO deck. Super Glad to hear about it and I saw a Gearagiga Katakuri deck from my friend Hector. Massive swarm potential, with it and great swarm presence.

Did some trades today and, had to give advice about building Dark Worlds. Because some people only want to build the deck because they have the cards to build it. Especially when they are kind of new to the current formats and what makes a deck more successful versus filler space.

But hopefully the weeks coming will yield a better result, in both my dueling and pulls. So far all i have to show from my resent pulls was a bunch of Chronomally stuff, a rare Madolche counter trap “Madolche Tea Break” and a Ghost Rare HC-Excalibur.
